Our history
The story of the Renaissance Institute of Precision Oncology & Radiosurgery begins with the vision of two world leaders in functional radiosurgery from different continents. Dr Evan Thomas, a CNS radiation oncologist specialist, and Dr. Leo Romanelli, an Italian neurosurgeon, conceived the idea of a freestanding center dedicated to the highest level of excellence in radiosurgery, focusing on the most precise and challenging treatments informed by the most advanced MRI & PET imaging available. They envisioned establishing this center in a location with favorable weather and easy global accessibility. Their search led them to Winter Park, Florida, a convenient spot just moments away from both the Orlando International Airport and the Orlando Executive Airport.
In Winter Park, the Renaissance Institute of Precision Oncology & Radiosurgery is a 10,000-square-foot facility now equipped with the most advanced radiotherapy and imaging equipment available. Today, the institute stands as a beacon of innovation and excellence, offering cutting-edge treatments and attracting patients and practitioners from around the world.
